Article 90 [Mutatis Mutandis Application of the Criminal Law in Ethnic Autonomous Areas] Where the provisions of this Law may not be fully applied in ethnic autonomous areas, the people's congresses of the autonomous regions or provinces may formulate varied or supplementary rules based on the political, economic, and cultural characteristics of the local ethnic groups and in accordance with the basic principles stipulated in this Law, and submit them to the National People's Congress Standing Committee for approval before application.
