Article 144 [Producing or Selling Toxic or Harmful Food] A person who adulterates toxic or harmful non-food raw materials into food produced or sold, or knowingly sells food adulterated with toxic or harmful non-food raw materials, shall be sentenced to imprisonment of not more than five years and a fine, or to imprisonment of not less than five years but not more than ten years and a fine if the offense causes serious damage to human health or is committed under other serious circumstances, or shall be punished in accordance with the provisions of Article 141 of this Law if the offense causes death or is committed under other serious circumstances.
