Article 67 [Voluntary Surrender] Where an offender who has committed a crime voluntarily surrenders to the competent authority and truthfully confesses their crime, it shall constitute a voluntary surrender.
An offender who voluntarily surrenders may be punished by alleviated or mitigated penalties, or exempted from punishment if the crime is minor.
Where a suspect against whom compulsory measures have been taken, a defendant, or an offender who is serving a sentence truthfully confesses their other crimes that the judicial authorities are not informed of, it shall constitute a voluntary surrender.
Notwithstanding absence of voluntary surrender as prescribed in the preceding two paragraphs, a suspect may be punished by alleviated penalties if they truthfully confess their crimes, or by mitigated penalties if particularly serious consequences are avoided due to truthful confession of their crimes.
