Article 53 [Payment and Reductions or Exemptions of Fines] A fine may be paid in one lump sum or in installments within the period of time specified in the decree. Where it is not paid before the expiration of the specified period, enforcement measures shall be taken for mandatory payment.
Where it is infeasible for an offender to pay the fine due to an irresistible disaster or other reasons, the people's court may decide to postpone payment, or decide to reduce or exempt it at its discretion.
